Visual Synthetic and Natural Hybrid Coding and Chip Design

MPEG is an integrated video standard; object-based interactive audio/video standard,  MPEG-4, will be the main stream of audio/video applications in a few years. The applications include entertainment, broadcast, internet, virtual environment, etc. The techniques developed for MPEG-4 are versatile; however, we only focus on the developments of techniques on the wavelet-based image and video compression in the visual texture coding (VTC) and the view-dependent multiresolution 2D and 3D mesh coding and compression in the visual synthetic and natural hybrid coding (SNHC).
